De vacature
As embedded software engineer you design, implement and iterate the architecture of the embedded software that implements the interface between the hardware of SoundTalks' livestock monitoring devices and backend servers operating in the cloud. You have a good understanding of different hardware and software architectures and are experienced with driver development, preferably on embedded Linux devices. Experience with TCP/IP networking and routing configurations on embedded Linux platforms and/or experience with message broker architectures for IoT devices would be a plus. Experience with embedded signal processing or more general computational work on embedded devices can be of value.
Functie eisen
- A bachelor or master degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering
- C and Python, optionally C++. Embedded linux development.
- Linux kernel debugging and driver development.
- TCP/IP routing configuration and debugging experience.
- Experience with message broker architectures.
- Prior experience with yocto and/or openwrt is a plus.
- Experience with wireless mesh technologies a plus.
- Signal processing experience or prior experience with software solutions to computational problems on embedded systems would be a plus.
- Agile methodology player.
- Disciplined, meticulous and structured, self-organized, tasks breakdown oriented
- Open communicator in an International multicultural company

Sound is recorded 24h/7d in the barn, intelligent sound analysis algorithms automatically assess the Respiratory Health of the pigs based on these recordings. Early warnings are raised to the farmer and/or veterinarian in case potential respiratory diseases develop in the pig barn.
SoundTalks' solutions are cloud-based, which allows intelligent, personalised warning systems, the aggregation of data and excellent customer service. Besides fattening pigs and nursery, SoundTalks is also developing products for other markets, with the first extension towards poultry.
